While the work is unified through these technical and thematic assignments, each student takes a unique and creative approach. The pieces included were selected by Susan Putterman, the Director of Museums and Chief Curator at the Hebrew Home at Riverdale. The show includes works by 18 students: Venus Bermudez, Tim Chernyaev, Kelly Chiang, Vincent Gau, Matt Green, Eric Ho, Jessie Hu, Irfan Khan, Robin Kim, Emiliya Kojouharova, Nicole Lam, William Liu, Arlen McInerney, Johanny Mejia, Sara Missaoui, Emma Vargas, Megan Williams, and Angela Wong. Digital Photography as Fine Art: Works by Bronx High School of Science Students will be on view May 19 – June 12, 2006 in the Elma and Milton A. Gilbert Pavilion.
The Hebrew Home at Riverdale is a nonprofit, non-sectarian geriatric center serving 3,000 elderly persons through its resources and community service programs. Its nineteen-acre campus overlooks the Hudson River at 5901 Palisade Avenue in Riverdale. The Home is a member of the American Association of Museums. It houses an extensive collection of 20th century art and is committed to exhibiting contemporary and modern works of art for its residents, staff and friends in the community. The Home can be reached easily by public transportation or Metro North and is located just fifteen minutes from Manhattan.
